"Words have meaning and names have power"... with a surname like Hand I'm reminded that hands are powerful physical tools that help us connect, support and communicate acts of love with others.

Out of a love for people I find myself extending the hand of friendship to others more often than not, especially through my creativity. I'm sure many of you will understand that the events of last year made that a challenge though. We all endured the magnified highs and lows of life, within the confinements of lockdown and restrictions. As the year went on, many of us lacked community, family, perhaps even purpose and belonging and physical touch.

If you know anything about me, you'll know I'm a natural creative, but as a direct result of last year, I found I lacked clarity, meaningful connections and creative direction. After all, what is cake if you can't share it?

In a bid to breath creativity back into my life and still connect with people, I decided to challenge myself a little and set 'extended acts of love' as my new year's resolution. This has meant I've had to find new ways and more tools to achieve this. I'm learning to rely less on a handshake, a cosy warm hug, an empathetic touch of a friends hand and set my hands to new and exciting projects, like creating Leah Love and lifestyle (that I hope you are reading now). In a simple act of love, this is a space that focuses on the positives of life while also aiming to bring likeminded people together through the written word.
